The reason for the punishment is the racist insult of the English representatives during the September meeting in Budapest.

FIFA also fined the Hungarian association 200,000 Swiss francs (approximately 185,000 euros), which is one of the highest in history, the AP agency reported.

For the next meeting without spectators, a two-year conditional postponement applies, which will change in the event of another incident. The next match will be played by the Hungarians on October 9 against Albania.

“There were racist behaviors during the match,” FIFA said in a statement.

The main targets of the attacks were Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham, mainly monkey hoaxes. Both are dark-skinned footballers.

As the English knelt before the initial kick, deafening taunts were heard from the stands, items flew over Sterling after the opening goal in the 55th minute, and Bellingham was to be the target of racist shouts while warming up off the field.
