The doctor and scientist Peter Celec answered this question. “It could happen,” he said in an interview for the Bratislava self-governing region. However, according to him, the question is what is the alternative. “Because the alternative is not to get a vaccine or not to get a vaccine. The alternative is to get a vaccine or get a covid.” he said clearly. He also reminded that the consequences of this alternative solution are quite bad.

The doctor also reminded that so far no long-term side effects have been reported with the vast majority of vaccines. “So if we don’t count there, for example, that the vaccine will also save murderers and all sorts of criminals. So in the long run, it will certainly have such side effects,” he said lightly.

Subsequently, however, on a more serious level, he addressed the issue, which also often becomes the argument of those who refuse vaccination, and that is the speed of development of coronavirus vaccines. “If the year of development is too short, how much would be enough? How long should it take for someone to be happy with it? Especially a person who doesn’t know how long it should actually take,” he is asking.

He admits that development has been accelerated, but differently than people think. “He was accelerated so that many things were done in parallel,” he said. He explained this on the example of preparing Sunday lunch, when you can cook individual courses one by one and it takes more time, or at once and the lunch is ready faster. “The drug trial phases go one after the other under normal circumstances, mainly to save money, because most drugs that go to phase one, for example, don’t go to phase two because they don’t.” he explained.

He explained that it is not important for farm companies to invest in them unnecessarily. However, for the coronavirus, the scenario was different. According to the doctor, this only happens if “Would be a big problem, and we have one.” That is why the individual phases started in parallel.

“We have another problem there, and that is phase three. The most important and largest, where efficacy is tested on a large sample of patients. For other vaccines, we have a problem that we don’t have many infected people. he remarked.

He also refuted the widespread claim by some vaccine opponents that vaccinees could spread the virus because they did not know they were infected. “Even those who are not vaccinated may not know about it,” he said. He used young people or children as an example, who in the vast majority have almost no symptoms.

According to him, vaccines are also significantly less likely to transmit the virus. “I regularly measure antibodies in my saliva and I still have them. Even if you spilled the virus in my mouth, the probability of infecting someone else is very low, because I have antibodies there that envelop the virus and therefore is much less likely that I could infect someone else, “he explained.
