Justice: Alexandre Benalla keeps a low profile during the first day of hearing – Franceinfo

Alexandre Benalla appears before the Paris Criminal Court, this Monday, September 13, for brutalizing a couple on May 1, 2018 during a demonstration posing as a police officer. But also to have used diplomatic passports after his dismissal from the Elysee and finally for illegal carrying of arms. In front of the cameras he did not want to express himself but he delivered his version of the facts to the magistrates: “I was surprised, I felt like I had done something positive for society by questioning delinquents.”

Licensed from the Elysee Palace in July 2018, Alexandre Benalla is accused of having continued to use two diplomatic passports for trips to Africa and Israel as part of his private reconversion in security. Finally, the former Elysee mission manager is accused of having staged a photo with a weapon. “I regret this photo, even if there was no real weapon that evening”, explains Alexandre Benalla. “He listened to the words without reacting in a virulent way then he answered all the questions of the president without exception”, adds Hugo Puffeney, journalist at France Télévisions, in duplex from the Paris Criminal Court.
