Until this Tuesday, the pillar of 9 with ‘folre’, ‘manilles’ and ‘puntals’ had been attempted only once, and it was by the of the same Castellers de Vilafranca on November 1, 2002, in a test that was left in an attempt when it broke a few seconds after the ‘grallas’ began to sound -at which time the attempt was considered valid–. The group from Vilafranca have achieved this historic milestone after crowning 3 of 10 with ‘folre’ and ‘manilles’, and completing 2 of 9 also with ‘folre’ and ‘manilles’, in a performance together with the Capgrossos from Mataró, who has completed 3 of 9 with ‘folre’ and the Xiquets de Tarragona , which so far have completed 5 of 8 and have loaded 3 of 9 with ‘folre’ as the maximum construction.
