An 18-year-old woman dies in a road accident in Larressore – France Bleu

An 18-year-old woman died in a road accident early this Sunday in Larressore. She was a passenger in a car in which there were four other young people. They were returning from an evening spent in a nightclub in Dancharia. The vehicle left the road, for a still unknown reason, in a corner exit. It ended up in a tree. The accident occurred on departmental 88, the road that connects Ustaritz to Souraïde, around 6 a.m. The vehicle was traveling in the direction of Ustaritz after the artisanal farm Pelemborda. Four seriously injured The four other young people who were in the car, three young men aged 18 and 19, and a young woman aged 17, were seriously injured, but their lives were not in danger. They were transported to the Basque Coast Hospital Center in Bayonne, and to the Dax hospital. The deceased girl is from Villefranque. Two other occupants would be from Boucau and Bayonne, according to the mayor of Larressore, Laurence Samanos who went to the scene and who raised a cry of alarm: “It’s dramatic, we are confronted almost every weekend end to the deaths of young people on our roads. Indeed, a car passed by there shortly after the accident. When help arrived, three of the young injured had extracted themselves from the vehicle. The other two had to be extricated. This accident mobilized around twenty firefighters from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques as well as two medical teams from the Bayonne SAMU. worrying: on October 12, there were 20 deaths on the road (37 across the entire department). Young people are particularly concerned, since the 18-24 represent the majority of the killed, with 14 dead since the beginning of the year (as of October 12), as specified by the chief of staff of the prefect of Pyrénées-Atlantiques.
