Both interested parties parted ways in a rather tense atmosphere, but the Pole finally got his way and transferred to FC Barcelona. However, Sport1 reports that the German champions had a completely different plan. The directors of “Die Roten”, seeing the growing pressure from the player, boldly declared that Robert Lewandowski still has a valid contract, but behind the scenes they were already looking for the best possible solution for themselves. That was supposed to be an exchange with Chelsea for Kai Havertz. The former Bayer Leverkusen player was supposed to replace the captain of the Polish national team. Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic even contacted the German’s agents to see if he was available on the market. The contact was facilitated by the fact that Sadio Mané, who joined Munich from Liverpool in the summer, and Serge Gnabry, who recently extended his contract with the Munich giants, are clients of the same player agency. In the end, however, this plan fell apart like a house of cards. Robert Lewandowski strongly pushed for a transfer to FC Barcelona, ​​and complications arose on the Chelsea side as well. Although the clubs started preliminary negotiations about the exchange, in the meantime, the coach Thomas Tuchel, who had already been fired, opposed and refused to invest in the 33-year-old player.
