Since Sunday, the cloud cover in our territory has finally decreased and beautiful, sunny and very warm weather prevails. However, such pleasant weather will end today in our territory and a significant cooling will come during the night, which will gradually bring the first frosts with it. Europe is currently experiencing beautiful weather, which is above average for the current time of year. Already yesterday, temperatures exceeded the +25 °C limit, which is the limit characterized for a summer day, for example in the Czech Republic, Austria, or Germany. It was even warmer in Western Europe. In France they measured up to +30 °C and in Spain they recorded up to +33 °C. During today, the influx of warm air into Europe will peak and it could be even warmer. In our area, the temperature can again lower the threshold of a summer day, and in Western Europe it can be up to +35 °C. Today we are also expecting warm weather with temperatures up to +25 °C. Yesterday was the warmest in Prievidza, where the temperature rose to +23.9 °C, and today the weather will be similar. However, tomorrow will be completely different. A cold front with rain will arrive at night. During the night, a cold front will affect the weather in our territory, which will also bring precipitation. They should primarily affect the northern and eastern regions of our territory, but too much precipitation is not expected. A maximum of only a few millimeters should fall. Already in the morning, the precipitation will stop and the timing will start. This is because a spur of higher air pressure will begin to advance from the northwest, but it will begin to expand in the cold air, and it will begin to flow towards us from the north. Watch out for the first frosts. Temperatures will be significantly lower tomorrow. While today they will rise above the level of +20 °C, tomorrow the maximum daily temperatures will only reach +20 °C and on Thursday it will cool down even more to only +9 to +15 °C. Due to the cooling effect, the return of snow showers to our mountains must also be expected. However, the most interesting thing about the approaching cooling wave will be the frosts. Frost threatens in the second half of the week in several places. Only western Slovakia can be spared. The first frosts will already occur on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, when temperatures in our territory will drop to +6 to 0 °C, but in the valleys and basins it can be as low as -2 °C. The coldest will be on Friday morning. Temperatures in the west will be relatively pleasant, but in central and eastern Slovakia it will be extremely cold and temperatures will range from +2 to -3 °C, while in the valleys and basins it may be below -5 °C. Watch out for the approaching cold season and prevent damage to your agricultural crops. Temperatures should moderate over the coming weekend.
