yesterday 15:45 | Slovakian hockey defenseman Šimon Nemec will not play in the opening game of the New Jersey Devils in the new NHL season. The club sent him to the Utica Comets farm team in the AHL on Wednesday. He called Canadian defender Kevin Bahl in his place. The Devils open the season on Friday, October 14th at 1:00 CEST against the Philadelphia Flyers. The German was originally on the team’s roster for the season opener, but will finally start the season on the farm. The German was the highest choice of the “Devils” in the last draft, who hired him as the second overall pick. Subsequently, he signed a rookie contract with the club and completed both the rookie and main camp before the season. In the Devils jersey, he played in three preliminary matches, in which he collected three negative points.
