After a month of tracking, Hassan Iquioussen was arrested this Friday in Belgium in Mons. The Moroccan imam on file S was the subject of a European arrest warrant, after an expulsion measure requested by Gérald Darmanin and confirmed by the Council of State. It is thanks to his electronic devices that the imam was confused, learned BFMTV from a source familiar with the matter. Why only now? Two possibilities: either he had never used these devices, or one of his VPNs (a virtual private network used to isolate Internet exchanges) crashed. A tablet and a telephone with a Belgian number seized According to this same source, the imam also got in touch electronically with his son one afternoon, which allowed the inspectors to find him in the home of one of his friends in Mons. The French police then transmitted this information to the Belgian police who went to the site with a search authorization from the Tournai court. The search took place around 2 p.m. on Friday. The police seized a tablet and a phone with a Belgian number. Hassan Iquioussen let himself be challenged calmly. Those present reportedly said that the imam had been in Belgium for several days.
