If these reports are confirmed, it would mean that the best footballer in the world in 2018 and the player of Spain’s Real Madrid will play two more seasons, at least in the national team jersey. At that time, the native of Zadar will be shortly before his 39th birthday. The aforementioned Bahtijarevič said goodbye to the Croatian national team after 30 years and on this occasion revealed Modric’s further football plans. “Thirty years is a long time. My plan was to leave when Luka and others said goodbye to the national team. I wanted to retire quietly so no one would find out. However, Luka decided to stay until the Euros, and that would be an even tougher wait. However, I have already agreed with the coach (Zlatko Dalič, note) that they will keep one medal from Qatar for me.
