JULIEN DE ROSA / AFP Unsurprisingly, the members of the party of the presidential majority ratified, Saturday, September 17, the new name of their formation, Renaissance, and elected the European deputy Stéphane Séjourné to take the lead. The results of this vote of some 25,000 members, which was spread over two days, were announced at the start of the evening, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne. Activists approved 83% of the new leadership, 87% of the new party statutes and 96% of the body of values drawn up at the end of August. “Unity and overcoming is what I want to give this evening,” said Emmanuel Macron in a video broadcast at the carousel, where the congress was taking place. “We were able to reconcile so many women and men who until then did not work together” and “it is united and gathered that we are going to open a new chapter in the political life of our country”, also declared the head of the state.
