The director of “A bout de souffle” and “Contempt” was emblematic of the New Wave. Director Jean-Luc Godard had more than 70 films to his credit. Among them, Breathless, produced in 1960, with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. In the early 1960s, Jean-Luc Godard invented a new way of making films, hand-held camera, in natural settings. He became the leader of the New Wave alongside Truffaut or Chabrol.
