Venice, with Harry Styles, the gossip of Wilde-Pugh jealousy takes center stage

Hollywood looks to Venice to try to dispel the yellow of the gossip of the moment that surrounds the relationship between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh because of Harry Styles, so as to conquer the pages of the “New York Times” and “Variety”. But the Lido red carpet, which saw the cast of the film “Don’t Worry Darling”, presented Out of Competition at the Venice Film Festival, did not solve the mystery about the alleged disagreements that would have arisen on the set between the director, now linked to the British pop star, and the lead actress. Indeed, the catwalk on the Venetian red carpet seems to have reinforced the image of a coldness between the two women. The malevolent gossip began to circulate on the internet after the decision of Pugh, an Oscar nominee for “Little Women” (2019), to desert the Venetian press conference this morning for the presentation of the film with the director and the other protagonists. , including Styles himself, Chris Pine and Gemma Chan. No interview, therefore, officially because the 26-year-old English actress would have been engaged in Hungary on the set of the filming of “Dune 2”. Pugh appeared, therefore, only in the late afternoon on the red carpet where she greeted, acclaimed, the thousands of fans, who however were in a frenzy especially for the former frontman singer of the One Direction band. On the red carpet, the cast of the film only took group photos. No shots of Harry posing with Florence, and not even kisses and hugs between the two actors. And not even simple handshakes between the director and the cast. A ‘cool’ style that appeared well thought out in every move on the red carpet. The director and the actors entered the Sala Grande of the Palazzo Cinema, to watch the screening, at a safe distance from each other, without the danger of crossing eyes and hands. To crystallize this coldness, finally, also the disposition in the room of the cast: with Wilde sitting at the antipodes of Pugh, with Styles in the middle, Pine, the ‘villain’ of the film, next to the director, and Chan side by side with the alleged rival of Olivia.
