An unnamed father shared the story of his son’s name on Reddit. As he explained, together with the child’s mother, they are very satisfied with the name, but they often encounter the fact that the people around them do not like their son’s name. According to the man, family members even called him “disgusting”. “My son is now three years old and me and his mother are still very happy with his name, but there were a lot of people who disagreed with the name. It’s called Caspian and we chose it because of the geographic and oceanic references, because of the biblical references, and because we think it sounds unique,” the man explained in his Reddit post. The father went on to say that they won’t be changing his son’s name because they think it’s a “perfect fit” for him, but he’s interested in what other people think about the whole thing. More than 260 people responded to the post, with many agreeing that it was a great name. “I think it’s a beautiful name and if you’re happy with it as his parents, nothing else matters,” said one commenter. “Reminds me of a character from The Chronicles of Narnia,” said another. “It’s not my favorite name in the world. But guess what? It’s not my baby! You picked the name you thought was best and you love the name,” added another commenter.
