Vatican: Msgr. Perlasca presents as an injured party, the Court reserves the right

Twist at the 14th hearing before the Vatican Tribunal for the financial scandal linked to the sale of the London building in Sloane Avenue: Mgr Alberto Perlasca, considered the key witness in the process, through the lawyer Alessandro Sammarco, presented a request for a civil action in the trial both against Cardinal Becciu and against four other defendants, Gianluigi Torzi, Fabrizio Tirabassi, Enrico Crasso Nicola Squillace. The Court reserved the decision. It should also be noted that the lawyers of the other defendants opposed. In detail, Perlasca believes he is an injured party and would like to form a civil party against Becciu for the charge of subornation of a witness since, according to him, Cardinal Becciu would have turned to the then bishop of Como Cantoni so that Perlasca would retract the testimony of him. Furthermore, Perlasca asks for a civil action against the aforementioned defendants for the accusation of fraud because they would have induced Perlasca to sign a framework agreement in order to sell the thousand shares of the London building.
