The Specialized Criminal Court (ŠTS) in Pezinok is due to start deciding on detention for former Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák on Friday at 3 p.m. This follows from the information provided by TASR spokeswoman Katarína Kudjáková. In addition to Kaliňák, a decision on detention for lawyer Marek Paru and another accused MC is to be decided. Investigator NAKA, together with the chairman of Smer-SD Robert Fico, accused Kaliňák of the crime of founding, conspiring and supporting a criminal group, of the abuse of power of a public official, as well as of repeated crime of endangering trade, banking, postal, telecommunications and tax secrets. Attorney Marek Para is accused of the crime of founding, conceiving and supporting a criminal group. The third accused MC faces charges of the crime of accepting a bribe. According to Denník N, he is a member of the Slovak Information Service. The Secret Service has not yet responded to TASR questions.
