In Mannarino’s ‘Africa’ the reference to a mysterious and liberating irrationality

Mannarino’s words and music once again sound energetic, visionary and out of the chorus. Surprise release today ‘Africa’, the new song by Mannarino and premise of the album V (Polydor / Universal Music Italia) to be released on September 17th, available in pre-order and pre-save from tonight (https: //pld.lnk .to / V_album). Written by Mannarino (produced by Mannarino, Joey Waronker and Iacopo Brail Sinigaglia) the song ‘Africa’ is the reference to a mysterious and liberating irrationality represented by a magical and powerful African woman. “Flower, cave, panther, black water”, words that become images of beauty, strength, protection, life, while dancing a primordial, epic and future dance. Nature, patriarchy, animism, femininity, man-woman relationship, these are just some of the themes addressed by the singer-songwriter in the next album V, the most political and visionary record of his career where love, the irrational and a magical sense of life they become real tools of decolonization of thought and human resistance. Mannarino, through the original style of his work, rigorous musical research and lyrics steeped in poetry proved to be a non-approved model for the new generations. With his previous four albums he has already delivered to the music some great classics such as’ Me so ‘mbriacato’, ‘Statte Zitta’ and ‘Vivere la vita’. With the latest album ‘Apriti Cielo’ came the definitive consecration: the platinum record and a tour that exceeded 150 thousand people. In January 2020 he was the first and only Italian artist to be invited to play as a guest of honor at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
