This was announced by the Ministry of Health with the circular, signed by the Director General of Prevention Gianni Rezza, updating the information on vaccination of subjects who have had a Sars-CoV-2 infection. “It is possible to consider the administration of a single dose of anti-SarsCoV-2 / Covid-19 vaccine in subjects with previous Sars-CoV-2 infection (course symptomatically or asymptomatically), provided that the vaccination is preferably performed within 6 months from the same and in any case no later than 12 months from recovery “, reads the circular. “For subjects with immunodeficiency conditions, whether primary or secondary to pharmacological treatments, in case of previous Sars-CoV-2 infection, the recommendation to continue with the complete vaccination schedule provided remains valid”, clarifies the ministry. Furthermore, “as indicated by the WHO, the execution of serological tests, aimed at identifying the antibody response against the virus, is not recommended for the purposes of vaccination decision-making”.
