Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Angrily Responds to President Joe Biden

(CNN) –Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel responded angrily on Friday after President Joe Biden called the communist island “a failed state.”

“If President Joseph Biden had sincere humanitarian concern for the Cuban people, he could eliminate the 243 measures applied by President Donald Trump, including the more than 50 cruelly imposed during the pandemic, as a first step towards ending the blockade,” Díaz published -Canel on his official Twitter account.

Cuba has been rocked by unprecedented protests and widespread government crackdown on protesters. The island’s government limited Internet access after the protests. Biden said Thursday that the United States was studying how to restore connectivity for Cubans.

Díaz-Canel called Biden’s offer a new attempt to overthrow the Cuban government.

“The US has failed to destroy Cuba despite wasting billions of dollars to do so,” he tweeted.
