Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office, CSM commission is divided by appointment: Viola, Romanelli and Amato are in the running

There are three candidates in the running for the leadership of the Milan prosecutor’s office. The commission for executive positions of the Higher Council of the Judiciary has in fact voted on three alternative proposals: two votes went to the attorney general of Florence Marcello Viola and one each to the deputy prosecutor of Milan, Maurizio Romanelli, and to the head of the prosecutor of Bologna Giuseppe Amato . For Marcello Viola, Antonio D’Amato, president of the commission, of the independent judiciary, and Sebastiano Ardita, of Autonomy & Independence, voted. Giuseppe Amato received the vote of the Unicost councilor Michele Ciambellini, while Maurizio Romanelli that of Alessandra Dal Moro, from Area. The two lay members of the commission abstained, Fulvio Gigliotti, M5S, and Alessio Lanzi, of Forza Italia. The three proposals, after the drafting of the reasons by the speakers and the opinion of the Minister of Justice, Marta Cartabia, will be brought to the examination and vote of the plenum.
