Dell UltraSharp WB7022 review: a premium webcam for 4K video conferencing

The software of course allows you to modify the definition of the image, at 720 or 1080 p up to 60 fps, and in 4K up to 30 fps. It will therefore be necessary to choose between maximum quality and greater fluidity. In addition, if the HDR mode promises on paper a better management of the image when the contrasts of luminosity are important in the room (back to a window for example), in the facts, we did not notice a big difference . Even when disabled, the webcam handles the image well; more serious, we noticed a sort of annoying shadow flicker with HDR in some cases.

In night condition.
In full light.

Apart from this detail, the Dell UltraSharp has exceptional image quality in 4K and Full HD is also very good. The white balance is well managed automatically and you can anyway brighten the image if necessary using the sliders. On our test scene, the webcam caught up particularly well with brightness and yellow/orange lighting in nighttime conditions.

In a darker office.
In a bright office.

In good lighting conditions, there is really nothing to complain about, and even in a fairly dark environment, the image remains of very good quality. It is certainly smoother, but quite usable. On the other hand, bluish bands can appear in the shadows, which taints these prowess a little.
