Covid today Switzerland, 15,191 infections and 14 deaths

In the last 24 hours, 15,191 infections, 14 deaths and 128 hospitalizations for covid-19 have been recorded in Switzerland, according to figures published by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). Last Tuesday the infections were 20,310 (5,119 more), 17 deaths and 140 hospitalizations. During the last 24 hours the results of 47,494 tests have been transmitted, with a positive rate of 32%, compared to 33.4% last week. The reproduction rate, which is about ten days behind the other data, stands at 0.78. The Omicron variant accounts for 99.5% of cases. In the last 28 days, the total number of infections is 677,923, or 7,783.85 per 100,000 inhabitants. Since the start of the pandemic, 2,711,524 infections and 12,662 deaths have been recorded. In total, 68.83% of Swiss people have already received two doses of the vaccine. Among the population over 12, the share rises to 77.97%. In addition, 75.79% of people over 65 and 41.31% of the population received the so-called booster.
