Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday (February 21) that he had decided to immediately recognize the Donetsk People’s Republic (DDR) and the People’s Republic of Luhansk participation of the Russian army.

He called for the recognition of the sovereignty and independence of the DRC and the LR as necessary. In the meantime, the leadership of the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, has declared its cooperation and readiness to ratify the agreements with the DPR and the LR as soon as possible.
