Will pensioners receive a one-off food allowance? Sulík on how the government wants to deal with rising prices – NEW TIME

The government has not yet taken any measures to help increase prices, whether for energy or food.

Peter Pellegrini, an unclassified deputy and leader of the non-parliamentary Voice-SD, announced this on Sunday’s TV show Markíza Na telo. Economy Minister Richard Sulík (SaS) claims that a significant problem with electricity would be next year, which the government averted by the measures taken. In the case of food, he can imagine help for pensioners, he is primarily waiting for proposals from the Minister of Finance Igor Matovič (OĽANO).

Pellegrini stated that the measures presented by the government in the fight against rising energy prices are not currently helping. He claims that people were only told that next year and the next year will not grow, but according to him, they will have a problem this year as well. He also pointed to high inflation.

“The price of electricity for households this year is not a problem, it would be a problem next year, and we acted there,” Sulík emphasized. He added that the gas problem will not be until next year, and according to him, the government is still solving it. According to him, the problem with heating is that some heating plants did not buy gas on time. He stressed that they introduced price capping here.

He admitted that food prices were going up. It will therefore support all steps to help if the agreement is in a coalition. According to him, the Ministry of Finance (MF) of the Slovak Republic has the floor in this case. “One year’s food aid for retirees for sure, yes,” Sulík suggested.
