A few days out is a trailer for one of the expected films of the year – the biographical film Elvis about the famous king of rock’n’roll Elvis Presley. This was played by the American actor Austin Butler.

A 30-year-old native of California (not so well known in Slovakia) started his career in television projects, for example, he appeared in the series Hannah Montana or several episodes of the CSI crime scene. Films were added to the television opportunities, but it was mainly a nice face, the popularity of teenage projects and later a relationship with my colleague Vanessa Hudgens, which attracted so much attention to the tall, slender American.

When Butler’s name appeared among the adepts as a rock and roll king and one of the most famous music artists of all time, few would have guessed he had a chance. Maybe because the other names in the game had a lot more experience. Actor Miles Teller, for example, who starred in the Oscar-winning film Whiplash, applied for the role. They also called Ansel Elgort, another popular American actor of the young generation, who has so far scored, for example, in the films Baby Driver, The Stars Are to Blame and, most recently, the new musical West Side Story.

Well, the producers and director Baz Luhrmann, who made the film at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in Australia, finally decided otherwise. Butler just got the role. That it didn’t have to be a bad decision, the footage showed more than a year ago, when the actor appeared at one of the film premieres with darkly colored curls and a bang reminiscent of the late 50’s, which also made Elvis famous. “He really looks like a living Elvis,” users wrote on the Internet and social media.

According to many fans, the originally “dirty blonde” didn’t need that much for a visual transformation. However, the trailer, which they released on the night from Thursday to Friday, suggests another positive news. Butler seems to have pushed his best and the audience has something to look forward to.

“When we started filming, I decided that my voice would be identical.
