OLYMPIC GAMES – “Over time, everything goes away”… But the performance of Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron on this song Leo Ferre will not be soon forgotten. The French Olympic champions in ice dancing moved all the spectators and television viewers this Sunday, February 20 during the traditional closing gala of the figure skating events of the Beijing Olympics.

During these three minutes of sweetness and melancholy, not a sound was heard. At the last note of music, from the ice rink came the sound of numerous and enthusiastic applause for the French couple who are training at the Canada.

On social networks, Internet users have also shared their emotion. “A moment of absolute grace. They are magnificent. And this song!!!! They express it so well”, “They are not the best for nothing. The best skating couple for years”, “I have tears in my eyes bravo bravo!!!!!”, “extraordinary”, “wonderful”, “so beautiful”… the compliments are not lacking.

In a completely different register, the performance of the Spaniards Olivia Smart and Adrian Diaz on the “Maniac” music of the film flash dance also marked the spirits. Their neon costumes and acting garnered thunderous applause from the audience.

The Beijing Olympics officially end this Sunday, after the closing ceremony which begins at 1 p.m. French time. The next Games will be held in Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, in 2026.
