A smartphone that makes the right compromises
the Xiaomi Mi 11i is a little more timid than the premium smartphone it is inspired by. Far from being a simple lighter version of the latter, it simply makes the right compromises to benefit from even better value for money. For example, its 6.67-inch Super AMOLED screen is not curved with WQHD+ definition, but flat in Full HD+. However, it keeps the refresh rate at 120 Hz for a very pleasant fluidity.
Likewise for its 4,520 mAh battery which is a little smaller than that of the Xiaomi Mi 11 classic, it still remains autonomous enough to hold the smartphone all day, or even longer depending on your use. We especially appreciate its very fast charge which allows you to recover 100% in just 45 minutes, but unfortunately no wireless charging on the horizon.
No concessions for performance and photography
The Mi 11i, on the other hand, makes no concessions for performance. Like its big brother, it integrates Qualcomm’s high-end chip in 2021, aka the 5G-compatible Snapdragon 888. The processor supported by 8 GB of RAM delivers considerable power that absolutely meets all needs, from creation to 3D games in optimal quality.
For the photo, the module equipped with three sensors (108 + 8 + 5 megapixels) is very effective. The macro and wide-angle modes are well thought out and the main sensor manages not to push the colors of the photos too much, which makes it possible to have a rendering that is fairly faithful to reality. As for the night mode, it produces surprising results that are pretty to look at, but this time quite far from reality. On the video side, Xiaomi’s smartphone is still capable of recording up to 8K at 30 frames per second.
