A few months ago Nothing launched its first product, Ear 1 headphones. We imagined that the brand would not stop there, but it was difficult to know towards which horizons the new entity launched by Carl Pei would sail. In the light of some tweets shared by its founder, it appears today that it would be heading towards the launch of a first smartphone.
In any case, this is what we can deduce from a few words shared on Twitter by Carl Pei on February 11. The person concerned explains in particular that he is ” back on android “, adding thatAndroid 12 is ” nice “. Messages to which the official Android and Snapdragon accounts quickly responded. At the turn of a meme, Qualcomm’s Community Managers also allude to a potential alliance between Carl Pei, Android and Snapdragon chips… It doesn’t take much more to make a smartphone, underlines the specialized site Android Authority.
Soon a first smartphone for Nothing?
Launching a smartphone would be a bit like going back to his first love for Carl Pei, who held the helm at OnePlus for seven years before launching Nothing as a new project. For Nothing, on the other hand, it would be a first. A first not necessarily easy to negotiate: making an impression on a properly overloaded smartphone market could prove to be complex.

Note that this is not quite the first time that we have heard of this subject. A first Nothing smartphone was expected for the start of 2022, but no further details have been released and a few months later we are no further ahead. It is therefore impossible at this stage to have a first idea of what Nothing could offer if the company actually decided to enter the mobile market.
