POLITICS – MEP and leading member of RN Nicolas Bay, who plans to join Eric Zemmourwas suspended this Tuesday, February 15 from his functions within the party, which accuses him of “sabotage” for the benefit of Marine Le Pen’s rivalwhich the person concerned immediately denied.

“We have confirmed that Nicholas Baytaking advantage of his presence in the highest instances of the campaign, has been transmitting strategic and confidential elements for months to our direct competitor Eric Zemmour”, wrote the executive office of the RN in a message to the executives of the movement.

“This has allowed the campaign events to be parasitized on several occasions. This perfectly immoral behavior is analyzed in a real sabotage”, added the direction of the party. “Urgently, the executive office of the RN took the decision to suspend him from his campaign spokesperson as well as from all his other responsibilities”, according to the same source.

Nicolas Bay immediately refuted on Twitter the accusation deemed “rude”. “Not participating in any instance of campaign management, how could I have known and transmitted so-called ‘strategic information’!?”, he asks.

A few minutes earlier the elected official, who is also a member of the executive office, had demanded in a tweet an “explanation” from the party leadership on the recent departures of the movement towards Eric Zemmour.

“I asked for the meeting of the executive board of the RN: a frank explanation is not only necessary, but also urgent. The management of the RN cannot continue to ignore the crisis we are going through”, tweeted Nicolas Bay.

According to sources close to the former secretary general of the party (2014-2017), he plans to join Eric Zemmour, who is traveling on Saturday to his chosen land in Normandy, where Nicolas Bay is regional councilor.

Marine Le Pen had denounced in the middle of the day, on the sidelines of a trip to Aisne, “real internal sabotage campaigns”, after the rallying of Senator RN Stéphane Ravierthree MEPs and several regional advisers to Eric Zemmour.

Without naming Nicolas Bay, the far-right candidate had “asked those who operate the slug strategy to please speed up their departures (…) because the slug is slow but also because it is sticky”.
