Already in the morning, the storm Dudley will hit Europe. The more destructive storm will come on Friday – iMeteo.sk

Dudley, which strikes the British Isles during the morning hours, is approaching Europe and then begins to move towards our area, where it strikes at night from Wednesday to Thursday.

A really strong wind is blowing in Europe in just a few hours. In the morning, the British Isles are hit by a storm, Dudley, which hits Scotland and Ireland in particular. In the afternoon it will catch up with the coast of Europe.

In Slovakia, the wind will start to intensify on Wednesday evening, but it will not be fully blown until Thursday, when the storm will reach our territory.

The storm will cause damage, especially on the coast

The wind should pick up in the British Isles in the morning. The strongest wind is expected on the coasts of Ireland and Scotland, where gusts of wind could reach speeds up to 100 km / h. In the remaining areas, gusts of wind should reach speeds of around 100 km / h.

During the afternoon, the middle of the pressure below Dudley will begin to move from Scotland over the North Sea and then through southern Scandinavia over the Baltic. The wind will start to intensify on the coast of Europe, especially in the Benelux and northern Germany.

Strong winds in Central Europe should blow in full at night from Wednesday to Thursday. But it won’t be a Dudley storm anymore. In Central Europe, we follow the German name for the pressure units and it will be a Ylenia storm.

Ylenia will bring a strong wind especially to the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany, where even in lower positions the gusts could exceed a speed of 100 km / h. These are already gusts of wind that will also cause material damage. The strongest wind in Slovakia will be on Thursday afternoon. Wind gusts can reach speeds of up to around 90 km / h, but in the mountains wind gusts can reach speeds of up to 150 km / h.

An even stronger storm is expected

An even more devastating storm threatens Europe on Friday and Saturday. Another pressure lower will pass over Europe from the Atlantic Ocean, but it will not be as large as the first lower, but it will advance in the southern latitudes and the wind will be even more pronounced around its center. The effects of wind can be extreme and make them bigger material damage.

However, all this will depend on the exact position of the center of this pressure below. Currently, it looks like the middle of the pressure below will move across England, northern Germany over the Baltic. In England, gusts of wind in the lowlands could reach 150 km / h, which is unparalleled. Gusts of up to around 130 km / h are expected in the north of France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

In the Czech Republic, it should blow up to 120 km / h in populated areas, and wind force is still questionable in our territory. Wind gusts of about 100 km / h are tentatively expected.

If the Friday and Saturday storms are confirmed, it will go in Europe about one of the strongest windstorms in the past at least 5 years.
