MILAN – Inter Milan footballers lost to Slovak defender Milan Škriniar in Saturday’s city derby in the 24th round of Serie A with AC 1: 2. The defender of the championship title suffered only the second loss in the league season, at the top of the table he has only a one-point lead over the rival. However, the “Nerazzurri” have one less match played.

In the first half, Inter scored in the 10th minute, but did not pay for the offside. Other chances for Nicola Barella and Denzel Dumfries remained unused, but Ivan Perišič opened the scoring in the 39th minute. After a corner kick, the AC defenders forgot and the Croatian wingman deftly overcame the goalkeeper.

In the second half, however, the “Rossoneri” turned the course with two goals by the French striker Olivier Giroud, who “surprised” the wounded Zlatan Ibrahimovich. He first fought the ball in the middle after a fight with Alexis Sanchez and in a counterattack in a six-on-three counterpart on the back post pushed the ball into the net. Another three minutes later, he relaxed and shot the Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovich. Škriniar saw a yellow card at the end and the guest Theo Hernandez received a red card at the end.

In another Saturday’s match, a goal-free draw was born between the home AS Roma and FC Genoa. The duel was “spiced up” by two red cards, one on each side. The “wolves” are in seventh place in the table with the same number of 39 points as the city rival Lazio Rome is in sixth place. Lazio succeeded Fiorentina 3: 0.
