Rescuers in Morocco are trying to free a little boy from the well for the fifth day – TVNOVINY.sk

Rescuers in northern Morocco have been trying for the fifth day to save a five-year-old boy from a 32-meter-deep well. On Saturday afternoon, they managed to get into the excavated hallway, hoping to find the boy alive. This was reported by AFP, referring to its rapporteurs.

Rajan fell into a narrow empty shaft in the village of Ighran in the mountainous region of Shaffsin province on Tuesday night. Circumstances such as this have not yet been clarified. The rescuers did not even know how long it would take them to get out of the tunnel.

The camera, which rescuers had previously launched into the shaft, caught the boy from behind lying on his side, but it was not possible to say for sure if he was alive, the rescue chief said. They also tried to supply the boy with oxygen, water and food, but he wasn’t sure if he caught them.

Since the shaft was only 45 centimeters in diameter and would be too risky to expand, rescuers dug a wide parallel shaft up the slope to get to the boy from the side. Rescue teams first dug through the ground to the depths where the boy was trapped, and then began manually digging a horizontal tunnel toward him. Their work was complicated by the rocky-sandy terrain, which is threatened by landslides.

Paramedics are waiting on the spot to examine the boy after he is taken out and provide him with first aid. A helicopter with medical equipment is also ready to take him to the nearest hospital.
