Sportsnet’s Ellitote Friedman recently announced that the NHL would invite a 44-year-old Trenčín native to an exhibition in Las Vegas to at least take part in skills competitions.

However, his colleague Jeff Marek informed on Saturday that Chára had declined the invitation.

“The NHL wanted him to compete for the toughest shot, and I think we all wanted to see Chara there again.” Marek remarked. “But the future member of the Hall of Fame declined politely.”

Chara has won the discipline five times in a row and has a league record with a speed of 175.5 km / h. For eight years it was also an overall record in ice hockey. The last time we saw Chara was in the 2012 All-Star Game.
