Rafael Nadal triumphs for the second time in his career at the Australian Open, 13 years after his first success. The 35-year-old Spaniard, number 5 in the world and sixth-seeded, defeats the 25-year-old Russian Daniil Medvedev, number 2 in the ATP ranking and seeding, with a score of 2-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6 -4, 6-4, 7-5 after five hours and 24 minutes of the game. For Nadal this is the 21st Grand Slam title, one more than his great rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
