Sergio Lepri, Italian journalism master, died was 102 years old

Farewell to a master of Italian journalism: Sergio Lepri, director of the Ansa agency from 1961 to 1990, died in Rome at the age of 102. He was born in Florence on September 24, 1919 and was a professional journalist since 1945. He was editor-in-chief of “Il Giornale del Mattino” in Florence from 1953 to 1956; Head of the Press Service of the Prime Minister’s Office in the government of Amintore Fanfani from 1958 to 1959, to assume leadership of Ansa two years later. For thirty years, he liked to repeat, his management assured “all the written and spoken press and also the most important public and private bodies complete and impartial information”. Lepri had dedicated himself from the 90s to an intense activity of non-fiction and of information language teacher at the School of Journalism of the Luiss University from 1988 to 2004.
