Tragedy in the Tatras! Three climbers from Poland died while climbing Gerlachovský štít – TVNOVINY.sk

The search for the Mountain Rescue Service in the High Tatras is over. According to TV Markíza, three Polish climbers have unfortunately found them dead. On Friday (7.1.) They were aimed at Gerlachovský štít, but they did not return until the evening. They searched for them all day on Saturday, but without success.

It was not until Sunday around lunch that the rescuers managed to find three Poles, unfortunately without signs of life. The Polish mountain guide UIMLA probably negotiated with two clients who intended to climb Gerlachovský štít.

The bodies were located under the south wall of the Boiler Shield.

Urgent rescue work is currently underway and the transport of remains to Starý Smokovec will follow.

“The UIMLA mountain guide is not qualified to accompany clients in climbing terrain, the causes of the accident will be the subject of further investigation,” the fire brigade informs on the social network.
