Investing.com – The markets reacted strongly to the publication of negative figures from the US NFP report, the report which reveals the number of jobs created in the non-agricultural sector.

The report showed the creation of 199,000 jobs for the month of December which represents half of the value expected by the market and well below the results of the previous month.

These figures are all the more important now that the US central bank has announced its decision to accelerate the tightening of its monetary policy. It should be remembered that the Fed has a dual objective, that of maintaining inflation and promoting full employment.

Stock markets fell sharply after the release, notably as well as other markets like cryptos, before recovering to some degree.
