Covid today Italy, 108,304 infections and 223 deaths: January 7 bulletin

There are 108,304 coronavirus infections in Italy today, 7 January 2022, according to data and covid numbers – region by region – in the Civil Protection and Ministry of Health bulletin. Another 223 dead were recorded. New cases were identified on 492,172 swabs performed, leap in the positivity rate to 22%. There are +764 hospitalized, + 32 in intensive care. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic has risen to 138,697. The deceased are a man and two women respectively residing in Senise, Potenza and Tolve. The Lucanians recovered or negativized are 127. The hospitalized for Covid-19 are 76 (+4) of which 2 in intensive care: 40 (of which 1 in TI) in the hospital of Potenza; 36 (of which 1 in IT) in that of Matera. Overall data: 339,499 total cases; 6,154,353 swabs performed; 281,829 people healed and 7,006 people died ABRUZZO – There are 1,540 coronavirus infections in Abruzzo today, 7 January 2022, according to numbers and covid data from the region’s bulletin. The new cases (aged between 2 months and 98 years) bring the total from the beginning of the emergency to 130,440. Another 4 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of victims to 2,659. The currently positives in Abruzzo are 38,983 (+1,006 compared to yesterday). There are 269 patients (+21 compared to yesterday) hospitalized in the medical area; 25 (+1 compared to yesterday) in intensive care, while the other 38,689 (+984 compared to yesterday) are in home isolation with active surveillance by the ASL. In the last 24 hours, 2,904 molecular swabs and 8,826 antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate, calculated on the sum of molecular swabs and antigen tests of the day, is equal to 13.47%. SOUTH TYROL – There are 832 new coronavirus infections today 7 January in South Tyrol, according to data from the latest covid bulletin -19. There are 4 more deaths. In the last 24 hours, the laboratories of the health company carried out 1,148 PCR swabs and registered 190 new positive cases. There are also 642 positive antigen tests. At the provincial level, a total of 788,496 swabs have been carried out on 278,430 people to date. Covid-19 patients admitted to normal hospital wards are 75 and 56 are hospitalized in private facilities, while those in intensive care are 17. Overall deaths (including rest homes) are 1,318. The total recovered are 99,759 (+448) CALABRIA – The new coronavirus infections registered in Calabria today, 7 January 2022, are 1,469, according to the Covid-19 emergency bulletin released by the Health Protection Department of the Region. Two deaths, for a total of 1,658 deaths. 10,602 swabs carried out.
