Covid today England, 162,572 new infections and 154 deaths

England recorded 162,572 new coronavirus infections in 24 hours today, up from 160,276 on Friday. An additional 154 deaths registered within 28 days of a positive test, down from 178 deaths the previous day. It is the fifth consecutive day that confirmed infections are on the rise, only for England. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland did not publish data for Saturday.
