Using 10,494 RT-PCR tests, they detected 2,660 cases of new coronavirus infection in Slovakia on Friday (December 31). There were 30 casualties. The National Center for Health Information (NCZI) informs about it on the website covid-19.nczisk.sk.

The most positive PCR tests were in the Trnava region, the least in the Košice region. “400 people had a positive antigen test on New Year’s Eve,” added Zuzana Eliášová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.

2,313 people are hospitalized in hospitals in connection with COVID-19. There are 454 people at JIS and OAIM. 223 patients need support for artificial lung ventilation. “Almost 84 percent of those hospitalized are not vaccinated or have only one dose of vaccine,” the spokeswoman said.

According to Eliáš, 20,337 people received the third dose of the vaccine during the New Year’s Eve day, 6,994 people received the second dose of the vaccine, and 1,842 people received the first dose of the vaccine.
