Vaccine covid, Mexico authorizes the Cuban Abdala

Cuban covid vaccine Abdala, the Cofepris – Mexico Federal Commission for the protection against public health risks – has authorized the emergency use of the drug based on recombinant proteins. This was announced by the Commission on its website. As Cofepris is the reference authority qualified by the Pan American Health Organization (Ops), “its decisions are recognized by various countries in the region, so the approved vaccines are likely to be used by other nations”, specifies Cofepris. So far Mexico has authorized the emergency use of ten vaccines: in addition to Cuban Abdala (3 doses), Pfizer / BioNTech (2 doses, messenger Rna), AstraZeneca (2 doses, viral vector), Cansino Biologics (single dose, viral vector ), Sputnik V (two doses, viral vector), Sinovac (two doses, inactivated virus), Covaxin (2 doses, inactivated virus), Johnson & Johnson (single dose, viral vector), Moderna (two doses, m-Rna), Sinopharm (two doses, inactivated virus). The Cuban Abdala vaccine has been examined by the Commission on new molecules and “has received a favorable opinion from the experts”, specifies Cofepris.
