“Numerous wet snow avalanches will be triggered this Wednesday with the return of the rain, which could take the entire snowpack in place. These avalanches could reach exposed road sectors as well as mountain infrastructures ”, warns the agency.

Snow expected from 900 meters

Overall, the weather is expected to be rainy from the north of the Alps to the Belgian border and to Normandy in the morning. The precipitation will remain quite marked near the alpine relief, with snow from 900 meters in the interior valleys in the first part of the day. This rain-snow limit will rise significantly over the hours.

From the South-West to Brittany the clouds will be numerous in the morning and will give light rain. In the afternoon, an improvement will emerge south of the Garonne with clearings.
