LIENZ – Boris Vlha stated after Tuesday’s World Cup races in the giant slalom that the setting in the Vlha team does not change. His sister Petra took the lead of the American Mikaela Shiffrinová in the second place after the second place, but they want to deal with these numbers only after the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Vlha was very happy after his sister’s second place in Lienz, Austria. “Our goal was to improve this season in the giant. Now we missed some races, took longer breaks and tested some new skis. Petra finally showed the ride, even though there were mistakes. But we are satisfied and we are pursuing our goal.” stated.

They knew it was coming

The brother of the Slovak skier believed that his sister would get in a better position in the picture than last year. “We knew it would come because it improved compared to last year and it only takes time.”

In the absence of the leader of the overall standings, Vlhová will be the biggest favorite of Wednesday’s slalom, and the American coronavirus prevented the confrontation with Mikaela Shiffrinová. “We don’t admit it. But now it’s in shape so we’ll see what it brings us.”

We have a goal

Vlha stressed that the team’s goals do not change with Shiffrin’s absence: “We have a goal. We’ll see how it’s set up after the Olympics. There’s still a lot of racing after the Olympics, and it can work out anyway. We’ll see where we’re after the Olympics.”

According to Vlh, it is impossible to prevent the same situation with Shiffrin from happening in the Vlhová team: “It’s Russian roulette, we’re still waiting for the results to turn out. It’s a bit burst in Courchevel, there’s a better bubble here in Austria, it wasn’t like that in France and it was to be expected. So our measures are drapes and hand washing.”

It will warm up in Lienz on Wednesday, which does not suit the Slovak skiers. But the track is well prepared and should last: “She’s really good and if she’s not plus 30, she’ll be fine.” concluded Vlha.
