Parental allowance and child allowance will increase from January – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA. The amount of the parental allowance will increase from 1 January next year. For parents who start parenting vacation worked and entitled to maternity benefit, an increase from the current EUR 378.10 to EUR 383.80.

For parents who did not work before the birth of the child and therefore did not receive maternity benefit from the Social Insurance Agency, the parental allowance will rise from 275.90 euros to 280 euros from the beginning of next year.

This follows the measures of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, which will take effect on 1 January next year.

The increase in the parental allowance amounts is related to the increase in the subsistence minimum by 1.5% from 1 July this year. According to the Parental Allowance Act, this benefit is increased on 1 January of the calendar year to the same extent as the subsistence level went up on 1 July of the previous year.

From the beginning of next year, the amount of the child allowance will also increase, by 38 cents to 25.88 euros. In this case, too, it is an increase of 1.5%, which is related to the increase in the amount of the subsistence minimum from the second half of this year.

The supplement to the child allowance received by non-working pensioners as parents of dependent children will increase by 18 cents to € 12.14 per month from 1 January next year.

One – time contribution to purchase school needs will rise from 104.76 euros to 106.33 euros next year when a child enters the first year of primary school.

This allowance is paid to primary school parents in October each year, together with a child allowance.
