TF1’s “HPI” series crushes all 2021 TV audiences – The HuffPost

TELEVISION – Full box for TF1 and “HPI”In 2021. As every year The HuffPost trained the list of the best audiences Prime time TV from the major channels (TF1, France 2, France 3 and M6).

In 2021, TF1 has as usual trusted most of the positions in this ranking, appearing eight times in this Top 10. A ranking in which we find constants, such as major sports competitions. In this case the sixteenth edition Euro football.

Four matches are found in this ranking, including the disaster France-Switzerland. The heartbreaking defeat of Didier Deschamps’ men in the round of 16 was the most watched program in 2021 (nearly 16 million viewers). Behind, follow two other meetings of Euro 2020 (Portugal-France and France-Germany), as you can see below in our infographic.

Among the other major events, the “Enfoirés” show (9.6 million viewers) and the Miss France 2022 contest (7.3 million viewers), remain events still unmissable on French TV, although experiencing slow erosion.

The “HPI” series, phenomenon of the year 2021

Beyond these usual audience successes, we find a nice surprise: series “HPI ” (High Intellectual Potential). This TF1 series carried by Audrey Fleurot and Mehdi Nebbou is the most watched fiction program by the French in 2021.

Of the eight episodes offered, four of them appear in this Top 10 of the best audiences of the year. Up to 12.4 million French people followed the adventures of Morgane Alvaro, cleaning lady with high intellectual potential, who becomes thanks to a combination of circumstances the new consultant of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DIPJ) of Lille.

On May 20, nearly one in two French people in front of their television sets (44.6% to be precise) followed the penultimate episode. A score that even reaches 52% on average among the famous FRDAs, French women responsible for purchases under 50, a target highly prized by advertisers. Audience data that obviously makes all channels dream.

Proof of the incredible success of this series created by Stéphane Carrié, Alice Chegaray-Breugnot and Nicolas Jean: all the episodes brought together at least 10 million viewers on TF1, as you can see in our graph below.

“HPI”Has even become the third most watched French series in history television since the creation of modern audience measurement in 1989. It is only preceded by the saga “Dolmen”With Ingrid Chauvin in 2005 (12 million viewers per episode on average) and“The count of Monte Cristo”With Gérard Depardieu in 1998 (11.5 million viewers per episode). So many reasons which pushed TF1 to renew the series for a second season.

In 2020, TF1 was also illustrated by placing three of its fictions in this top 10. It was about the biopic on Grégory Lemarchal “Why do I live” (8.3 million viewers, 4th best audience of the year), the series “Balthazar”(8 million viewers, 6th best audience of the year) and finally the TV movie with Muriel Robin“I love you Hairstyle”(7.7 million viewers, 8th best audience of the year).
