In Yemen, Houthis authorize resumption of UN humanitarian flights to Sana’a

Houthi rebels announced on Tuesday (December 28th) the “temporary” resumption of UN humanitarian flights to Sana’a airport, after a week-long hiatus following strikes by the Saudi-led military coalition on the Yemeni capital controlled by the insurgents.

The Houthi-led aviation authority said in a statement it was authorizing the resumption of UN flights “after malfunctions in communications and navigation devices were temporarily fixed.”

“The civil aviation authority announces the temporary resumption of flights of the UN and other organizations to the airport of Sana’a,” said the chain of rebels Al-Masirah.

The Saudi-led coalition said it only attacked military targets at the airport, from which drone attacks were launched towards Saudi Arabia.

She also called on the UN agency to facilitate the entry into the territory of new navigation devices purchased previously.
