PARIS – After a fall in training in Calpe, Spain, Thursday, the Dutch national team in track cycling introduced Amy Pieters to an induced coma.

The 30-year-old world champion in Madison underwent head surgery immediately after the incident, the AFP agency reported.

“Amy Pieters underwent head surgery yesterday and will be in an induced coma in the coming days. When doctors wake her up, it will be possible to assess the brain damage. Her family came to the hospital to see her.” said SD Worx, in which the Dutchwoman works, in an opinion.
