Covid today South Korea, new peak of deaths

New dramatic record of deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic in South Korea. Data from the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention (Kdca) reports 109 deaths in 24 hours and 6,919 new infections of Covid-19, with a worrying peak of 1,083 patients with severe symptoms and in critical condition. At 5pm yesterday, the percentage of beds occupied in intensive care for Covid patients was 79.1%, compared to 79.2% the previous day. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the country there are 589,978 confirmed infections, with 246 cases attributed to the Omicron variant and 5,015 deaths. According to the latest data from the Kdca, 82.2% of the population has completed the primary vaccination cycle and 26.7% has undergone the ‘booster’ dose of an anti-Covid vaccine.
