After her demonstration on Tuesday December 21 on the same track and in the same discipline, Mikaela Shiffrin naturally appeared as the favorite when it came to the race on Wednesday December 22. For good reason, the American had already won the first giant of the season (in Sölden, October 23).
On the French side, Tessa Worley seemed the best equipped to compete with the favorites. The native of Annemasse took an excellent second place in the first round, ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin (3rd), but just behind the astonishing Swedish Sara Hector. Second Tuesday, the 2011 world junior giant slalom champion demonstrated disconcerting ease on the snow in Courchevel.
