Toyota and Lexus introduced 16 electric cars at once – REFRESHER

For many years, Toyota and its luxury Lexus branch have resisted the massive use of pure electric vehicles, and perhaps the longest of all, they have pushed for their hybrid technologies. But now they have decided to do the opposite. As part of the grand presentation, the president of the carmaker, Akio Toyoda, presented up to 16 electric cars at once, with the proviso that they will all go into series production by 2030. Another 15 models are to follow.

Although most of the innovations are still in terms of concepts, their number is exceptional. It is also surprising that this is a carmaker that focuses on hybrids and currently has the lowest CO₂ among other brands. By 2035, however, Toyota wants to be carbon neutral.

The Japanese manufacturer has thus shown the world the entire electrical portfolio across individual segments – from mini cars to sedans, various SUVs, pick-ups to super sports. At the moment, the electric cars from the bZ family (small crossover and compact SUV) and the new Lexus RZ50e are especially realistic. It is these news that will hit the market in the coming months.

Among other things, the mentioned presentation stated that Lexus will become a purely electric brand not only in Europe, but also in China and North America from 2030. Although Lexus currently offers a purely electric model (UX 300e), it is only one of the motorized versions of the classic model as such. But it is the SS based on the e-TNGA platform that will replace the electric Lexus, which they developed as an electric car, next year. Shortly afterwards, other Toyota models will follow, which will also attract a wider group of customers thanks to the affordable pricing policy.
